Department of Energy VPP Star Recognition
The Department of Energy Voluntary Protection Program (DOE-VPP) initiated its VPP in January 1994 to promote improved safety and health performance through public recognition of outstanding programs. DOE-VPP also includes coverage of radiation protection/nuclear safety and emergency management because of the type and complexity of DOE facilities.
The DOE-VPP has three (3) levels of recognition; STAR, MERIT, and DEMONSTRATION, with STARbeing the highest achievement level.
Intermech first earned VPP Star status in 2007 at the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant, where Intermech designs, fabricates and installs ASME NQA-1 duct work.
Intermech recently received the Department of Energy’s “Legacy of Stars” award for its work at the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant, marking Intermech’s 10th year with no recordable incidents at the site.
