In his role as Operations Manager, Andy’s responsibilities include managing a diverse team of Project Managers and Field Superintendents. Intermech’s Mountain West operation is structured to provide civil, structural, and mechanical piping and HVAC services along with general maintenance to many of our clients. Andy works with the Local Union Representatives to make sure only qualified and safe personnel work on the projects. Andy works closely with clients and Project Managers to make sure that projects are completed on time and under budget.
Andy has been in the construction business for more than 25 years. His mechanical construction career began in 1991 when he worked for Raytheon as a pipe fabricator. Andy held weld certifications in several different processes and was held to X-ray quality standards. In 1997, he joined the Intermech team as a Pipe Welder Journeyman. Over several years, Andy gained the experience needed to become a Project Manager, and later in 2008 Andy was promoted to Operations Manager.
During his time as Operations Manager, Andy has worked on projects that have included the Idaho National Laboratories, Savannah River Site in South Carolina, and local chemical and food processing plants.
The Personal Side
In his downtime, Andy enjoys spending time with his wife and twin boys, who are involved in all types of sports. He also loves to spend time with his older daughters and his grandkids. If Andy is not at the ballpark, he can be found hunting, fishing, camping, or working on his old hotrod.
